Approximately 50 students participate every year to sell and distribute softener salt to community members. Since we started this program in 2014, we’ve raised over $33,000 for Blue & Gold. In 2023, we sold over 2100 bags for a profit of nearly $6,000. This money goes into our fund to help ensure that all students who graduate from Canby High School and go on to post-secondary education will receive a scholarship.

Each year, we rotate the businesses from which we purchase the salt. We thank these community businesses for working with Blue & Gold and helping this initiative succeed. These include:

• Famers Coop Elevator
• Jim’s Market
• Ag Plus (Cenex)
• Runnings
• Independent Oil
